I have the same problem with a brand new system. However I never received a dongle. Is there a sentinel driver that does not require the dongle?

Hi woodworker,

You should definitely have received a dongle when you bought your copy of ArtCAM. If you could let us know who your reseller is we should be able to look into it for you.

Thanks,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,
I bought this cnc router system off ebay. The seller goes by the name "love-happyshopping"
here is a link to the item
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 775wt_1139

There was an installation disc with programs including, artcam, Mach3, some kind of version of autocad 2004, and I think the drivers. Below is copy of error message. I have also downloaded the latest version (I think) of sentinel installation.

Thanks for your help.

Actually Bill, if you go down and select user manual it gives a full account of installing ArtCam ver 7
my guess is its a bad Chinese crack copy.

woodworker
ArtCam is only available through Delcam and their network of authorized Resellers, an email can get you verification on a reseller.
Artcam does require a security dongle and matching security file issued only by Delcam via your reseller once you have purchased the program.
I believe what you have is either the ArtCam files which will not install correctly without the above or an illegal copy.

The supplied copy of Mach most likely did not come with a license either, its probably the trial version which limits the number of codes lines it will run. Same O with the copy of Autocad.
The give away something is wrong is the software they are including cost more than the machine.
Gary

Gary,
Thanks for the info. As I look at the files I am sure your assessment is correct. I am going to go back to paypal and open a case.
How much is a legit copy of artcam?

Jim

Legit copies are on the order of 10 times what you paid for your machine.... Interesting that the seller looks to primarily sell beauty supplies I wonder how she stumbled into cnc equipment? Anyway I hope you get it sorted.
