Can someone explain how the "Font Editor" does/what it's for?

Hi,

Fonts can be created by modifying existing fonts or by generation a new font by using Font Editor. The font editor main control form appears, this allows you select a base font to change or to generate your own. AutoCAD fonts can also be imported into ArtCAM and they can be further edited to use with ArtCAM. If the user creates/edits a specific font and re-name it in Font Name section and save it, the *.afn file will get created and saved in the following location, D:\dcam\ArtCAM 2009\Fonts

If you restart ArtCAM at this stage you should be able to see the new font in this list of Text Fonts. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Shirish

to edit an existing font, or create a new one there's some other ways too.. like the coreldraw, which one can export in ttf file any shape, or a real fonteditor like font creator, or fontlab....
also you can use 'em to put together in a fontfile your favor shapes... or your handwritten signature.... with some patience you can put your handwriting in fontfile, and you just type on the keybord your handwriting...
have fun..
