Delcam Designer is now available. Delcam Designer is an add-on for ArtCAM and gives full surface and solid modeling capabilities. This opens up many different avenues of design to ArtCAM users. Delcam Designer lets you create shapes that are almost impossible using ArtCAM alone and allows you to integrate relief modeling with surface and solid modeling.

The main benefits are:
Create organic 3D shapes using hybrid surface and solid modeling
Dynamic surface morphing, bend twist, pull and stretch
Cut-and-Paste direct to and from ArtCAM, wrap (not just project) ArtCAM reliefs around surfaces and solids
Machine surface models using ArtCAM
Photo realistic rendering for product visualization.

You can find out more, and download a free demo version called Delcam Designer-e from the links below. Please note: Delcam Designer-e is only a demonstration version. It will allow you to cut and past relief data into Delcam Designer-e, but not allow cut and paste of 3D data into ArtCAM, so you will be unable to manufacture your designs. Apart from that it works just like the real thing.

Ask your reseller for a free 45 day Evaluation for the full version of Delcam Designer so you can explore all the functionality for yourself and manufacture your designs.

We have created a new area of the forum dedicated to Delcam Designer, here: http://forum.artcam.com/viewforum.php?f=19

Delcam Designer is available for ArtCAM Pro users and ArtCAM JewelSmith users.

For more information please see:

Hi Stef

I received an email about this this morning and when I went to download the file my antivirus software says there is a trojan horse in the file. If this is not true then maybe making the file a zip file would solve the problem. Please advise.

Hi Gingem

Everything we use in-house and that we send out has been fully checked for viruses and other nasties. I suspect whatever you use for virus checking is being slightly over-cautious. If you can tell us which anti-virus software you use, we will contact the developers direct and inform them.

Hi gingem -

We will try to resolve the 'Trojan' issue directly with the developers. Thanks.

Peter -

The corbel is a fully worked tutorial in the official training course. Unfortunately, the avi version of the demo is too big to post here, but we will change the web-page to allow download of the Flash file. Check back on the web-site in a few minutes.

This looks great. Would this be compatible with Artcam Jewelsmith v 6.008??

Thanks.

No it only works with ArtCAM 2008.

If you are still on v6 it is time for an upgrade. The software has advanced so much since then.

What do you do at the Alley in ArtCAM. I used to shop at the store when I was younger.

Wil

For the most part I design belt buckles, which we sell wholesale, as well as our retail stores (The Alley, Taboo Tabou, Silver District, & Marche Noir.)

Thanks for answering my question Wil.

Yeah we could certainly use the upgrade, but, TBH, none of the new features are worth the cost of the upgrade for us. So we'll probvably stick w 6 for a while yet.
