This is A piece I just finished. It's going to be cast in 14ky for the leopard and 14kw for the dragons. All modeled in ArtCam(Love that blend tool!) Sorry I can't share the relief but just wanted to share the pic.

Nice piece Ric, I really like the overall composition, the piece flows really nicely. Hope you can show us the finished casting later - SC

I finally cast one in sterling silver I just had to see what it might look like. I gold plated the leopard and left the dragons silver. The customer is saving money to cast in 14k and is not quite there yet. I think it came out pretty good.

i like it! did you machine the wax and have that cast, or were they able to work directly with a computer file? or did u actually cast it yourself? the reason i ask is i have a few parts i am looking to get cast in brass and i am wondering the best/cheapest way to get a dozen or so parts made.

I designed and made relief from A drawing in Artcam. I machined the model into Hotblock from modelmaster.
I'm not quite sure what it is, I think A polyester resin of some sort. and made A mold off of it. Then from there wax & cast.
The one I cast in gold is going to be 2 tone so I have to cut the wax in pieces and cast seperately, then weld them back together. I really like the hotblock because it cuts really well and you can go straight to the molding. Except don't use silicon rubber because it reacts with the material. I use the castaldo gold label. If you need some casting done shoot me an email if you want.
